Price Includes:
- Sixteen hour class teaches the instructor candidate to present both the medical and non-medical American Heart Association CPR and First Aid courses. This class includes the following CPR levels:
- BLS for Healthcare Provider
- Heartsaver CPR
- Heartsaver First Aid
- Heartsaver AED
- Family and Friends
- Core Curriculum (see details bellow)
- 3 Instructor manuals:
- AHA Core Curriculum Instructor Book
- AHA Instructor Manual: BLS for Healthcare Provider
- AHA Instructor Manual: Heartsaver and Family and Friends
- 2 Student manuals:
- BLS for Healthcare Providers
- Heartsaver First Aid with CPR & AED
- AHA Instructor course completion card
- Written and practical exams
- BLS instructor monitoring - Instructor Candidates will be required to complete at least one provider class under the supervision of a Training Center Faculty Member. Candidates may require additional sessions as determined by Training Center Faculty and the Training Center Coordinator.

Additional Class Information:
Also requires successful completion of a core curriculum on Adult Teaching and learning principles before class is considered completed. Teaching CPR requires excellent ability to perform and teach the following.
- Single–Rescuer Adult and Child CPR
- Two–Rescuer Adult CPR with AED
- Two–Rescuer Child CPR
- Single–Rescuer Infant CPR
- Two-Rescuer Infant CPR with Bag-Valve mask
- Rescue breathing for Adult and Pediatric age
- Use of the one-way valve mask
- Use of the jaw-thrust
- Use of the Bag-Valve Mask
- Responsive and Unresponsive Foreign-Body Airway obstruction for the Adult, Child and Infant
In addition, the following will also be evaluated:
- Presentation skills
- Organizational skills
- Remediation skills
- Interpersonal skills in dealing with students
- Knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems as it applies to teaching CPR.
Dress comfortably to kneel on the floor. Accommodations will be made for those with disabilities in order to participate in this program. Bring a sweater or jacket as the classroom can get quite cool. |
